Green Building
At Architectural Woodcraft we take our environmental responsibilities seriously, both in our shop practices and in our finished pieces.
In our work:
- We use Low VOC, water-based finishes.
- We choose locally produced, formaldehyde-free hardwood plywood made from domestic hardwood.
- We like to use domestic, sustainably harvested wood.
- We try to restore and use reclaimed pieces wherever possible.
In our shop:
- We recycle all paper, shipping boxes, plastics, and glass as well as our saw dust.
- Our site was previously used as an auto repair shop and we have had the ground tested for containments and have removed years of metal components and tires to be recycled.
- We help heat our shop with passive solar glass panels on our building's south facing side (shown in photo).
